Although I now have the privelege of traveling for my job and have been able to see some sights, I still miss my friends and family immensely. Often, when I'm exploring these fabulous places, I can't help but think that it would be so much more fun if I were enjoying it with one of you. So, this blog is my way of sharing my adventures with the ones I love.
A little tip about the pictures in the slide show and in the blog: If you want to see them bigger, just click on them. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for the ones that run along the right side of the page.
Happy reading!

Fara, Mom & Me
12 OCT 08: Doesn't Fara look precious at 7 1/2 months?
This is the view from the window, where I had dinner on my first night in Belgium.
Bernkastel-Kues, Germany
Many people were dressed in costume to participate in the festivities celebrating the grape harvest.
This guy was rolling a very large wicker basket along the parade route, selling pretzels. No poppers, glow sticks or feather boas at this parade!
A Pic of Me in Luzern
Notice the water tower in the background. It was constructed in the 1300s.
Mountain Views
I took this picture while on the boat tour.
A portion of the city wall in Luzern
I took this picture on my walk up to the towers. This is a portion of the wall that runs between towers.
Notre Dame's lovely stained glass
It costs 2-5 Euro to light one of those candles!
The Seine River
The river runs through the middle of Paris.

Burg Lichtenberg
July 29, 2008: The castle at Burg Lichtenberg was very nice. There is a lovely restaurant at the castle and the food was incredible. The nighttime view of the mountains from the castle was georgeous. There were thunderstorms on the other side of the mountain, and the light from the lightening lit up the sky behind the mountain providing us quite a show! (Click on the picture and you will be directed to the castle's website.)
Hotel Berghof
Baumholder, Germany: Here is a picture of the hotel where I'm staying. I'm loving it. It's a small, privately-owned establishment and has an out-of-the-US feel, but with most of the comforts of home. There is no a/c, which is a bit warm on the hot days, but the weather changes quickly. The high yesterday was around 70, which was beautiful. I'm staying in an apartment that has 5 rooms, so I am very comfortable.

RIVER STREET
A picture of River Street. Savannah is Georgia's oldest city, and although I have not learned the history of River Street or these cobblestone streets, they appear to be quite old to me. River Street is entirely cobblestone - lovely to look at but quite a bumpy ride if you're in a car!
JACK SPARROW & ME
HILTON HEAD
14 June 08: Bonnie and I are ready to hit the beach!
TROLLEY RIDE
If you look closely, you can see Bonnie and me - the only ones on the trolley! We enjoyed seeing Sea Pines Plantation this way. Since I wasn't driving, we could take in the scenery.
THE DEARLY DEPARTED
7 June 08: It was a distressing day 1½ weeks ago, when Shuffle (pictured left) took a swim in the washing machine and did not survive. Although that day was a gloomy one, it made way for my introduction to Nano (pictured right). Nano is a “second generation”, which I adopted for a small sum, from a guy named Ebay. I have experienced utter delight during the past week, as we have become acquainted. So, as I bid a sad farewell to my faithful Shuffle, I welcome my newfound Nano with open arms!
FORSYTH PARK
This is a shot of the sidewalk in Forsyth Park in Savannah. It reminds me of Audobon Park, but smaller and with lots of trees.
TYBEE ISLAND
One of several islands east of Savannah. There were lots of people but it was sunny and I can't resist a sunny beach!
IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK SEAFOOD & TAPAS RESTAURANT
11 May 08: Went to a fun restaurant today called It's 5 O'Clock. It overlooks a marina. I sat outside by the water. I don't guess it would have mattered what the food tasted like! I'm going back!
We Are Family...
13 APR 08: We finally got a picture of the whole family together. We had been at the Strawberry Festival all day, so we look a bit frumpy, but everyone is together. Soon, there will be a tiny addition, since Fara is "with child"!
